The police in Ekiti State command have arraigned two persons, Tope Omowaye and Temitope Ayokunle at the Magistrate court sitting in Ado-Ekiti over alleged felony to wit assault, and stealing.
The prosecutor, ASP Yomi Osuolale, told the court that the defendants and four others at large, had on May 9 at about 7am at Isato Oke area in Ado-Ekiti, conspired to unlawfully assault one Dare Isiaka.
ASP Osuolale further noted that on the same date, they allegedly stole 13 pieces of iron rods valued at N45,000 and a cash sum of N84,000 total sum of N129,000, belonging to Dare Isiaka.
The prosecutor noted that the offence committed was punishable under Section 421, 185, 302 of the Criminal Laws of Ekiti State of Nigeria 2021.
Counsels to the defendants, Blessing Falaye and E. Awe, urged the court to admit their clients to bail, adding that they will not jump bail.
The Magistrate, O. F. Bamidele, granted bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety each in like sum.
The case was adjourned until June 10, 2026 for hearing.
