2 charged with stealing of pumping machine, iron rods in Ekiti

Ekiti State Police Command has arraigned two persons, Wajere Abdulrahaman, 25, and Suleiman Sanusi, 25, before a Chief Magistrate court sitting in Ado-Ekiti over an alleged stealing.
Police prosecutor, Inspector Olasunkanmi Bamikole, told the court that one of the suspects, Abdulrahaman on August 28, at about 05.30a.m at Kajola Street in Ado-Ekiti, stole one pumping machine valued at N480,000 and ten pieces of 12mm of iron rod valued at N105,000, properties of one Idowu Shittu.
Inspector Bamikole said the other defendant, Suleiman Sanusi, on August 29, at the Atikankan area in Ado-Ekiti, unlawfully received the stolen pumping machine.

The prosecutor said the offences contradict Sections 302, 343, Laws of Ekiti State 2021.
The defendants pleaded not guilty and their counsel, Barrister Opeyemi Esan, urged the court to grant them bail.
The Chief Magistrate Saka Afunso granted them bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum and adjourned the case to October 3, for hearing.
