The police in Lagos State on Wednesday arraigned two men, Rasaki Adeniran (53) and Olaoluwa Akingboju (41), before an Ikorodu magistrates’ court for allegedly stealing two Bajaj motorcycles valued at N2.4 million.
The prosecutor, Inspector Adegeshin Famuyiwa, told the court that the defendants committed the offences on December 22, 2025, at about 2am at the Eleshin/Elepe Estate on Ijede Road in Ikorodu.
Famuyiwa stated that the defendants conspired with others, who were currently at large, to commit the crime.
He alleged that the defendants abandoned their duty posts and opened the gate for two cyclists, each carrying two passengers, to steal the motorcycles.
The prosecution further alleged that on the same day, the defendants stole one Bajaj motorcycle valued at N1.16m and another Bajaj motorcycle with registration number FKJ 583QN worth N1.2m, contrary to Sections 287, 410 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The Magistrate, Mr. A.O. Ogbe, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N500,000 each,with two sureties each in like sum and adjourned the case to January 22. (NAN)
