The Police in Ekiti State have arraigned two men, Yakubu Kehinde (28) and Adelusi Tope (21), before an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrate’s Court for alleged conspiracy, housebreaking, and stealing.
The prosecutor, ASP Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that on March 5, 2026, at about 10am in Agbado-Ekiti, Yakubu Kehinde and others currently at large broke into the residence of Busola Adedoyin. They allegedly stole N114,000 cash, ten measures (“rubbers”) of rice, and three measures of beans.
ASP Oriyomi further alleged that the second defendant, Adelusi Tope, broke into the residence of Adepoju Gabriel and stole the sum of N115,000.
The prosecutor stated that the offenses committed by the defendants are punishable under Sections 421, 322 (a) and (b), and 302 (1) (a) of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State (2021).
Counsel to the defendants, Barrister Adunni Olanipekun, urged the court to grant his clients bail, assuring the magistrate that they would not jump bail and would provide credible sureties.
In his ruling, Chief Magistrate Abayomi Adeosun granted the defendants bail in the sum of N100,000 each, with two sureties in like sum.
The case was adjourned until April 9, for hearing.
