The Ekiti State Police Command has arraigned two men, Ilori Idowu (40) and Akintade Seun (42), before a Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Ado-Ekiti over the alleged unlawful dumping of waste in an unauthorized location.
The prosecutor, Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that on January 20, 2026, at about 7:30 am, the defendants unlawfully disposed of refuse at a site in Ado-Ekiti not designated for waste disposal by the government.
Inspector Oriyomi said the offence is contrary to Section 29(1)(b) and punishable under Section 29(2) of the Ekiti Waste Management Authority Law, 2020.
Counsel to the defendants, Barrister O.G. Abiola, urged the court to admit his clients to bail, assuring the Magistrate that they would not jump bail.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr. Abayomi Adeosun, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N10,000 each with one responsible surety in like sum.
The case has been adjourned until February 9, 2026, for hearing.
