An Ilorin magistrates’ court has ordered the remand of two secret cult members in a correctional facility.

The suspects, Sulyman Bankole and Balogun Ibrahim, were dragged to court over possession of weapons and cult activities.

According to the First Information Report (FIR), the suspects were arrested by a team of police officers in their hideout at Popo-Igbona area of Ilorin.

The FIR reads in part: “One live cartridge, one battle axe, one knife and weeds suspected to be Indian hemp were recovered from them.”

The prosecutor, Zacchaeus Folorunsho, urged the court to remand the suspects pending advice from the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).
