2 docked in Ekiti for stealing N1.5m property

A 23-year-old man, Happy Balogun, has been arraigned at the Ado-Ekiti Magistrate Court over the stealing of property worth N1 million.
The police prosecutor, Inspector Olubu Apata, told the court yesterday that the defendant and others at large on July 8, 2021 at about 1.30 pm at Irona, beside Easy Life Hotel, stole plastic chairs and tents worth N1 million, property of Benson Oluwole.
He said the offence is contrary to Section 380 and punishable under Section 390 (9) of the Criminal Code Laws of Ekiti State, 2012.
Counsel to the defendant, Barrister Timi Omotosho, urged the court to grant his client bail, and that he would not jump the conditions.
The magistrate, Mrs. Mojisola Salau, granted bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case for mention on August 10, 2021.
In a related development, Owolabi Segun, 29, has been docked for stealing a block moulding engine valued at N500,000, property of Adelusi Adebisi.
The police prosecutor, Inspector Bamikole Olasunkanmi, told the court yesterday that the defendant on July 6, 2021 at about 6 p.m in Ado-Ekiti, did steal the block moulding engine.
The magistrate, Mr. Abdulhamid Lawal, granted bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum and adjourned the case to August 8, 2021 for mention.
