Two security men, Buhari Hassan and John Samson, were on Tuesday, docked in a Zuba Magistrates’ Court, Abuja, for allegedly stealing two bags of cashew nuts from an accident scene.
The police charged Hassan and Samson with criminal conspiracy and theft.
They, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The prosecutor, Adamu Ochone, told the court that the complainant, Isah Jaru, reported the matter at the Tuga Maje police headquarters on February23.
Ochone said that the complainant rode his motorcycle to purchase cashew nuts, but got hit by an unknown vehicle along Giri town, Abuja, on February22.
He said the complainant was rushed to the hospital for treatment, but on returning to the accident scene to pick up his motorcycle and the two bags of cashew nuts, he discovered they were gone. (NAN)
