A resident of Daku village, Samson Haruna, said the incident happened around 9am on Monday when the two farmers were trying to cross the heavily flooded river to their farms.
He said, “When they arrived at the river bank and there was nobody to cross them, they took the risk to wade through the river. Unfortunately, it was raining heavily, and before they realised what was happening, they got drowned as the river overflowed.”
