Men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have arrested two suspects, Modashiru Nasiru (18) and Hassan Yaya (19), over illegal mining in Oke-Igbo community in Ile-Oluji LGA of Ondo State.
In a statement issued at the weekend, the corps’ spokesman in the state, Daniel Aidemenbor, said the duo were arrested through intelligence.
In another development, Aidemenbor said a suspected vandal was arrested by the corps over allegedly stealing armoured cables belonging to the Recline Cable Company.
The suspect, Segn Alao (40), a staff of the company, was accused of stealing the cables alongside a generator and cylinder worth N3,345,000 on Araromi Street, First Gate, Igoba, Akure.
