A Federal High Court in Lagos on Monday remanded one Adebiyi Saheed and Atoyebi Sunday at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre for conspiracy and unlawfully dealing in petroleum products.

Justice Abimbola Awogboro ordered the remand of the men after they were arraigned by the Department of State Services (DSS).

The prosecutor, Michael Bajela, told the court that the defendants committed the offences at Atlasco Right of Ways in Amuwo-Odofin LGA of Lagos State.

He further told the court that the defendants and others at large, without a licence, aided, counselled and procured petroleum products.

Following the defendants’ not guilty plea, the prosecutor asked the court for a trial date, while urging it to remand the defendants.

The defendants’ counsel, Lukman Kareem, informed the court that he had filed his clients’ bail application and that same had been served the prosecutor.

Following non-opposition from the prosecutor, Justice Awogboro, admitted the defendants to bail in the sum of N5m with one surety each and adjourned the case to November 5.
