2 in court for ‘touching’ woman without consent

The police in Ekiti State have arraigned two men, Oguntuase Idowu (39) and Afolabi Olalekan (37) at the Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Ado-Ekiti for touching a woman without her consent.

The prosecutor, Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, said the defendants, between December, 2024 and April, 2025, sexually touched one Ilelabayo Bright without her consent.

Inspector Oriyomi noted that the offence was contrary to and punishable under Section 269(1) of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State 2021.

Counsel to the defendants, Barrister Busuyi Ayorinde, urged the court to grant his clients bail.

Chief Magistrate Abayomi Adeosun granted bail for each of them, in the sum of N70,000 with one surety in like sum and adjourned the case till August 1, for hearing.
