A magistrate court sitting in Isabo, Abeokuta, has sentenced two men, Michael Daniel and Smith Ajao, to six months imprisonment each for stealing 52 computer monitors and other valuables worth over N2.2 million.

Magistrate Temitope Obasanjo did not give the convicts an option of fine.

The two convicts, of no fixed addresses, had pleaded guilty to a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.

The prosecutor, Inspector Idowu Ogunleye, had told the court that the convicts and others still at large committed the offences on September 30, 2018 at Dorf Royal Events Centre, Asero, Abeokuta.

Ogunleye said that Daniel, a Maintenance Officer at the Dorf Centre, conspired with Ajao and broke into the Computer area through the ceiling.

Ogunleye also told the court that the duo stole the 52 computer monitors and an Apple 6H iphone, valued at N150,000.

She listed the other items that the two accused men also stole as a pumping machine valued at N42,000 and other items worth N49,000, all property of the Director of the company, Titilola Ero.
