Two people have been killed and two others severely injured in a communal clash in Zango Village, Dokshi Ward, Gulani Local Government Area of Yobe State.
The attack, which occurred on Saturday, is believed to be linked to a two-year-old dispute between the victims and assailants from the Azare axis. The attackers, armed with arrows and machetes, reportedly struck while the victims were working on their farms.
Chairman of Gulani LGA, Hon. Daiyabu Ilu Njibulwa, expressed frustration over the incident, saying repeated complaints to the police had not yielded results.
“We have reported these issues several times, but no proper action was taken. A similar conflict occurred last year. It’s time for action,” he said.

Police assured to apprehend the perpetrators, adding that a report had earlier been sent to the Boundary Adjustment Commission to seek a lasting resolution to the conflict.
Meanwhile, the Emir of Fika and Chairman of Yobe State Council of Chiefs, Alhaji Muhammad Abali Ibn Muhammadu Idrissa, and the Emir of Bade, Alhaji Abubakar Umar Suleiman, have urged farmers and herders to live peacefully.
Speaking during a farmers-herders sensitisation campaign organised by the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), the Emir of Fika stressed that both groups are interdependent in boosting food and livestock production and should avoid violence.
He blamed many clashes on drug abuse among youths and vowed to promote justice at the grassroots.
The Emir of Bade, who is also Deputy Chairman of the State Council of Chiefs, said his emirate had banned night grazing and the use of children to herd cattle.
He directed district heads to monitor grazing routes to prevent encroachments and promote seasonal migration in an orderly manner.
