2 men docked over alleged assault

The police on Tuesday arraigned two men in an Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State for allegedly assaulting a man.

The two men, Masaudu Yusuf, 20, and Musa Adamu, 21, whose addresses were not provided, are facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and assault.

The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to charges.

The Prosecutor, Sgt. Mary Ajiteru, told the court that the defendants committed the offences on May 8 about 8:30 p.m. at Sabo junction in Ikorodu.

Ajiteru said that the two men assaulted one Usman Wasiu and inflicted injuries on him with a knife.

According to the prosecutor, the offences contravened Sections 411 and 173 of Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.

The Magistrate, Mr C.K. Tunji-Careena, admitted the defendants to bail in the sum of N10, 000 each with two sureties each in like sum.

He adjourned the case until June 13 for mention. (NAN)
