The Gombe State Police Command has arrested six suspects over alleged cases of criminal conspiracy, robbery, culpable homicide and impersonation in the state.

Parading the suspects before newsmen at the weekend in Gombe, the state Commissioner of Police, Shina Tairu Olukolu, said the suspects were arrested by the police operatives following reliable information from members of the public.

He said two suspects, Solomon Bagudu and Dauda Aliyu were arrested in connection with the killing of one Abdulhamid Danlami of Tulmi village, who was killed and disposed of his car in March 2018 along Pindiga-Tumu road.

The police said the arrest of the duo by the Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Bureau of the command led to the recovery of the stolen vehicle in Bauchi State.

“The suspects, during interrogation, revealed the principal suspects as one Osisioma Daniel of Hardawa village in Misau LGA of Bauchi state, who was trailed to his hideout in Tulmi village of Akko LGA, but that he escaped with grievous injury on his head,” Olukolu said.

Meanwhile, two others, Danlami Musa and Mohammed Abdulhamid, all residents of Lafiya Lamurde LGA of Adamawa State, have been arrested suspected to be members of a syndicate that specialized in stealing motorcycles while posing as security operatives.

Olukolu said the duo pretended to be policemen from the Gombe command and had been operating along Kashere-Pindiga road in Akko LGA, disposing people of motorcycles.

The CP said the third accomplice, Kaura Danladi, escaped with a motorcycle to Adamawa State, adding that investigation is ongoing to arrest other fleeing members of the syndicate and recover stolen items in their possession.

The command also paraded one Amir Ahmad, 19, of Kwanan Alheri area of Gombe metropolis over alleged impersonation and extortion.

The suspect was said to have impersonated a personnel of the Nigerian Army and extorted one Abubakar Ali and Agatha John all of Investment quarters. “He entered their shops and demanded for the balance of his money, N500 while he neither bought nor paid for any products,” he explained.
