The Katsina State Police Command has arrested two suspected drug traffickers who specialised in cross border smuggling of psychotrophic substances.

According to a statement issued by the command spokesman, DSP Gambo Isah, the suspects were picked by a police patrol team attached to GRA Division, Katsina while on routine patrol along Sabon-Titin Kwado in the metropolis.

The suspects are, Dayyabu Auwal of Dutsinma LGA of the  state and Mujitaba Shitu of Mai’addua LGA also of the state.

Isah said the suspects were intercepted in a Gulf III Volkswagen car driven by one of the suspects.

He said: “They confessed to have been in the business of drug trafficking from Nigeria to Niger Republic through the Kwangolom border in Mai’addua LGA of the state.

“They will be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded.”
