Operatives from the Adamawa State Police Command’s State Intelligence Department (SID) have apprehended two individuals in connection with the theft of a generator battery from a church premises in Jimeta.
The suspects, identified as Dad Yusuf, 20, and Gibson Husseini, 17, both residents of Upper Luggere, Jimeta, Yola North Local Government Area, were arrested on June 28, 2025.
They reportedly confessed to stealing a 100Ah Mikano generator battery from the LCCN Cathedral, Jimeta, on the night of June 23, 2025, around 11pm.
According to a statement released by SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, investigations are currently ongoing.

Nguroje said authorities are working to identify additional accomplices in the crime and to recover other stolen items.
