2 Nigerian students emerge for Microsoft contest in US

Two students of the International Secondary School, City of Knowledge Academy in Lagos, Aliyah Adunola and Divine Ihonde, have qualified to represent Nigeria in the United State of America for the Microsoft Office specialist world championship competition in July.

This was after they emerged national winners of the Microsoft Office Specialist competition in Nigeria. The contest tests students’ skills on Microsoft Office Word, Excel® and PowerPoint®. Top students were invited to represent their respective countries at the World Championship after the national contest.

While 16-year-old Aliyah emerged the best in PowerPoint, Divine emerged winner of Excel 2016.

Aliyah was awarded the opportunity to study in the school through a scholarship from Access Bank after she participated in the school’s entrance examination in 2016 and emerged successfully.

She also performed well at her Cambridge International General Certificate Secondary Education (IGCSE),

She is the school social prefect and aspiring to study Accounting in the United States or Canada to tackle some of the challenges bedevilling Nigeria economy.

Aliyah would also want to grow and become Nigeria’s Minister of Finance or the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria.
