Two of the 18 children recently returned from Gombe to Anambra State have been identified by some parents in Kano as theirs, the chairman of the missing parent forum in Kano, Ismail Ibrahim Mohammed, has said.

Speaking with Daily Trust, Mohammed said the committee, set up by the state government on the issue, was told by the police that some children were taken to Gombe and was asked to go and identify them to be sure whether they are among the missing children from Kano State.

“During our recent trip to Anambra where we identified five children to be among those stolen from Kano, the committee was equally referred back to those taken to Gombe as well to see if they may be able to identify some,” he said. He said the committee went to Gombe upon return to Kano and identified two of those children to be their parents from Kano.

“We are now preparing to return to Anambra to collect the five earlier identified with these two that were returned from Gombe and bring them back to Kano to be reunited with their biological parents”, he said.
