2 phone thieves bag 6 months jail each

An Ota magistrates’ court in Ogun State on Thursday sentenced two men, Dayo Olatunji (22) and Lekan Akande (23), to six months imprisonment each for stealing a mobile phone valued at N75,000.

The prosecutor, Insp E. O. Adaraloye, told the court that the defendants conspired and stole a Vivo android phone valued at N75,000 belonging to one Chidi Ajeh in Sango-Ota.

He said that it was a Close Circuit Television (CCTV) that captured the defendants while they were stealing the point when it was plugged to charge.

The Magistrate, Mrs A. O. Adeyemi, convicted and sentenced the accused to six months imprisonment each with option of N5,000 fine each. (NAN)
