A Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, has ordered the remand of two men at a correctional center in Ado-Ekiti for allegedly touching two women’s breasts without their consent.

They were also accused of beating the women when they raised the alarm.

The prosecutor, Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that the defendants, of Nova Junction, Adebayo in Ado-Ekiti, on July 6, also threatened the lives of the two women, Oluwadare Oluwatosin and Oluwadare Nifesimi, both of Ile-Ileri Adebayo.

Inspector Oriyomi said the defendants, on the same date, time, and place, unlawfully conducted themselves in a manner likely to cause a breach of peace by beating both victims.

Inspector Oriyomi said their actions were contrary to and punishable under Sections 69(a), 184(2)(c), and 181 of the Criminal Laws of Ekiti State, 2021.

Counsel to the defendants, Barrister Opeyemi Esan, urged the court to admit his clients to bail. The prosecutor opposed this request, stating that the second victim is still receiving treatment at the hospital.

The Chief Magistrate, Mr. Abayomi Adeosun, ordered that the defendants be remanded at a correctional center in Ado-Ekiti till July 24.
