Operatives of the Ogun Police Command have arrested two armed robbery suspects, Kenneth Akpa and Adebayo Michael, for allegedly stealing a car in Lagos.

The suspects were arrested by Iperu police division following a tip-off that a suspected stolen Toyota Corolla 2008 car was sighted at a mechanic’s workshop along Ogere/Iperu road where the suspected robbers were making effort to fix it.

The spokesman of the police, Abimbola Oyeyemi, told newsmen on Tuesday that the DPO of Iperu division mobilised his men to the scene where the two suspects were arrested and the vehicle with registration number MUS 599 GV recovered.

According to him, the owner of the car, one James John Ushahemba, a resident of Ahoyaya, Lagos was contacted and had he had arrived in Iperu

He said: “In his statement, he explained that he was attacked in his home on December 20, 2021, at about 1:30am by two armed men.

 “He stated further that the robbers robbed him of his Toyota Corolla car, three phones and a cash sum of N30,000 at gunpoint.”
