Two suspected robbers sustained bullet injuries during a gun duel with operatives of the FCT police command at Jahi, Abuja.
CP Ajoa Saka Adewale, who disclosed this at the weekend, said the incident happened on March 27, when operatives of the Mabushi police division swiftly responded to a distress call on a robbery operation at an estate in Jahi.
He said when the police operatives arrived, suspected robbers engaged them in a shootout, leading to the arrest of two of the suspects.
He gave the names of the arrested suspects as Rabiu Jubril and Ibrahim Isa, whom he said were both residents of a tipper garage in Jahi, Abuja.
According to him, items recovered from them included two locally made firearms, three stolen vehicles with registration numbers NBS 348 CP, ABJ 105 AV and RSH 295 CB.
He added that some electronic devices that included two MacBook Pro laptops, one Lenovo laptop, one iPad, one PS4 gaming console, one Canon IP1224 camera and one drone camera were also recovered from them.
He added that “As we speak, the suspects are currently in custody and will be charged to court after investigations.”
The police commissioner, therefore, advised residents of the FCT to always take proactive security measures, especially by installing tracking devices in their vehicles.
