Two sales clerks, Mr Oriyomi Habeeb, 24, and Veronica Abang, 38, were on Friday taken to the Ikoyi Prison, Lagos, after they had been arraigned for stealing.
The two accused persons allegedly committed the offence between January 2019 and May 5, 2019 at Zapron Fashion Limited, Osapa London, in the Eti Osa Local Government Area of Lagos State.
According to the police, Habeeb stole two Nathaniel Brain text books valued at N25,000 each, two metrics text books valued at N26,000 each, two male and female children’s clothings valued at N28,000 each and other items totalling N208,000, property of Zapron Fashion.
Abang and others still on the run, within the same period, were alleged to have stolen N100,000 cash.
The two accused persons pleaded not guilty. Magistrate F. O. Sasanya adjourned trial in the case till May 15, 2019 and were admitted to N50,000 bail each.
They couldn’t meet their bail conditions immediately and were, therefore, remanded in prison.
