Two bandits have reportedly been killed by vigilantes while they were attempting to rustle cows in a livestock farm belonging to one Alhaji Rabilu in Maraban Issa village in Jere LGA of Kaduna State.
A resident of Jere, Labaran Ilyasu, said the incident happened on Sunday around 5pm when suspected bandits, wielding sophisticated weapons, invaded the livestock farm to rustle cows.
He said the bandits faced heavy resistance when both vigilantes and hunters engaged them in a gun battle for nearly an hour and that two among the bandits were killed during the gun duel.
A community leader in the area, who preferred anonymity, confirmed the incident, saying two bandits were killed.

The spokesman of the Kaduna State Police Command, ASP Hassan Mansur, was yet to react on the incident.
