2 suspected drug traffickers picked up in Delta

Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested two suspected drug traffickers and recovered large quantities of illicit substances and drugs in the state.
The suspects – Onyedikachi, 40, and Edna Karaki (female), aged 36, were arrested at Amukpe, Sapele, Delta State, by the police during a raid on drugs hideout in the area.
The command’s spokesperson, Bright Edafe, said the suspects were arrested on May 22 by the Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU) of the command.
Edafe said the police, acting on credible intelligence, carried out a targeted operation at a suspected drug dealers’ hideout in the Amukpe area of Sapele, leading to the arrest of the two suspects.

 

According to him, a search conducted during the operation led to the recovery of Tramadol, Codeine, Molly, Swinol, Vagadine, Red boy, Zaza, Taker, and other substances suspected to be harmful drugs.

 

He said preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects were allegedly involved in the sale and distribution of the recovered substances.

 

He said the suspects reportedly confessed to dealing in controlled drugs.

 

Edafe disclosed that a discreet investigation is ongoing to uncover the full scope of their activities and identify other members of the network.
