Two men, Aliyu Umaru (20) and Yusuf Ibrahim (26), were on Wednesday arraigned before an Ijebu Ode magistrates’ court over alleged armed robbery and theft of 10 cows worth N26 million.
The police prosecutor, Solomon Babalola, told the court that the defendants, armed with guns and cutlasses, between June 16 and 17, 2025, at Tojok Heritage Farm behind Iworo Health Centre, Iworo Ijebu in Ijebu Ode LGA, entered into the farm to rob and steal 10 cows valued at N26m, property of one Mr Toyin Bakre.
The prosecutor noted that the offences contravened Section 6(b) and were punishable under Section 1(2)(a) of the Robbery and Firearms Special Provision CAP RII Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004.
He also said the offences were punishable under Section 16(1)(b) of the Prohibition of Forcible Occupation of Landed Properties, Armed Robbery, Kidnapping, Cultism and and other Anti-violence and other Related Offences Laws of Ogun State 2016.
The Magistrate, Mr Ibukun Orekoya, ordered that the duo be remanded in a correctional centre pending advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecution(DPP) and adjourned the case to February 25, 2026. (NAN)
