Operatives of the Edo State Police Command have arrested two suspects for allegedly supplying food and other items to a criminal gang in the state.

The suspects, identified as Rabiu Shehu (27) and Hashiru Yusuf (28), were arrested on Illeh Road, Ekpoma, in the Esan West Local Government Area of the state.

The command’s spokesperson, CSP Moses Yamu, said the police, in collaboration with local vigilantes and hunters, intercepted and arrested the suspects while acting on credible intelligence.

He confirmed the suspects were arrested along Illeh Road, Ekpoma, while heading towards the forest using the pipeline route.

Yamu further stated that the suspects were found in possession of a Qlink motorcycle, food items, and a power bank.

According to him, upon interrogation, they confessed that the items were given to them by one Medisara Idris (35) to deliver to a certain herdsman inside the forest.

He said investigations have commenced to uncover the full network behind the activity and bring all involved to justice.
