2 vigilantes shot dead in FCT

Two vigilantes, simply identified as Emos and Solomon, have been shot dead on a farm in Yangoji village in Kwali Area Council of the FCT.

A resident, Saidu Aliyu, said the incident happened on Saturday night while the vigilantes were guarding the farm near Government Secondary School (GSS), Yangoji, along the Abuja-Lokoja highway.

He explained that, “On Sunday, morning the owner of the farm only met their motorcycle, bullet shells and bloodstains on the ground.

“So, he ran back home to ask their families whether the vigilantes were at home.

“Since then, it was on Tuesday morning that their decomposing corpses were found inside a bush along the road to Dangara village. The police were immediately contacted and they came and evacuated them.

“But what is surprising is, how did the corpses get to that bush, which is about eight kilometres away?”

There was no response from the spokeswoman of the FCT Police Command, SP Adeh Josephine, on the incident.
