It has been two years today since Boko Haram abducted over 113 school girls from their hostel at the Government Girls Science and Technical College Dapchi in Yobe State.

Leah Sharibu is the only remaining victim of the abduction yet to be released by the captors as she refused to denounce her Christian faith

When our correspondent caught up with Mr Nathan Sharibu, father to Leah, he said it has never been easy for the family.

Mr Sharibu pleaded with President Muhammadu Buhari to fulfill the promise he made to the family to rescue their daughter, Leah.

Mr Sharibu who spoke with our correspondent via phone appreciated all Nigerians; Christians and Muslims alike for their unrelenting support and prayers to see that God rescues his daughter.

One of the Dapchi school teachers who spoke with our correspondent on the condition of anonymity said many students have deserted the school since the abduction.

He said the few students remaining are mostly Dapchi residents who attend school from their homes due to fear of another attack.

He said, “We had over one thousand students before, but now we have less than four hundred.”

He added that several structures of the school are dilapidated and teachers lack accommodation.
