A 20-year-old man, Sunday Adefila, was arraigned Friday before an Ado-Ekiti magistrate court, Ekiti State, over an alleged act of burglary.
The police prosecutor, Inspector Monica Ikebuilo, informed the court that Adefila and others at large committed the offence on August 20, 2019 at about 1.30am at No. 25, Igbehin Atikankan Street, Ado-Ekiti.
Ikebuilo alleged that the suspect, on the said date, unlawfully broke into the shop of Richard Emenike and carted away 10 plasma televisions valued at N600,000, two stabilizers valued at N15,000, and one rechargeable lamp valued at N1,500.
The prosecutor said the offence contravened Section 390 of the Criminal Code, Cap C 16, Vol. 1, Laws of Ekiti State 2012. Adefila pleaded not guilty.
His lawyer, Barrister Olatunji Olayemi, asked the court to grant his client bail in liberal terms, with a promise that he would not jump bail.
The magistrate, Adefunke Anoma, granted Adefila bail in the sum of N100,000, with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case till September 29, 2019 for further hearing.
