200 entrepreneurs benefit from FG’s MarketMoni scheme

At least two hundred small scale entrepreneurs have benefited from the Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme (GEEP MarketMoni) as the Grass root Micro Finance Bank flagged-off  disbursement of the funds in Kano state.

In a bid to address the challenge of lack of affordable finance to small scale entrepreneurs, President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration established the GEEP MarketMoni as a social intervention programme aimed at reinvigorating the economy.

The Managing Director of the Grass root Microfinance Bank, Hajiya Farida Tahir said the programme was executed by Bank of Industry in collaboration with micro finance banks across the country.

“The Bank of Industry collaborated with us and provided N25 million for disbursement to at least 500 small entrepreneurs.

“The first phase of beneficiaries are mainly market women and traders, artisan, youth and agricultural workers,” she said.
