A non-governmental organisation has provided succour to at least, 100 pregnant women to mitigate the impact of the economic downturn occasioned by COVID-19.

The NGO yesterday paid a visit to the Lagos Island Maternity Hospital to commemorate this year’s International Women’s Day Celebration with the theme, “Choose to Challenge.”
The pregnant women at the hospital were provided with packages covering essential routine medications such as folic acid and iron supplements while delivery packs were made available to 100 nursing mothers.
The coordinator of the initiative, Pastor Loveth Orhonor, said women can truly celebrate the International Women’s Day in its full meaning through empowerment and trust in them to do what others said they couldn’t do.
“I am that woman that wants to see positive change in every woman and through the Gethsemane Women movement, we help them find their voices and raise a generation of influential women to positively impact their sphere,” she said.
