A grandmother’s n her boot’ Carol Howarth, 65,of Haverfordwest, West Wales, was bee-mused after the swarm latched onto her silver Mitsubishi Outlander for 28 hours – turning it into a four wheel hive. It took three beekeepers, a national park ranger and brave passers-by to help capture the swarm into a cardboard box while Carol was away from the car shopping. Roger Burns, of Pembrokeshire Beekeepers, said “it is natural for bees to follow the queen but it is a strange thing to see and quite surprising to have a car followed for two days. I got about 15 or 20 stings for my trouble.”
