No fewer than 200, 000 people benefited from the 2016 edition of  the free health care programme of Rotary International which ended on Saturday.
The three-day programme kicked off nationwide on last week with the organisation capturing the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Yobe, Taraba and Kano as well as 18 other states. 163 locations were designated for the programme.
The Rotary Family Health Days, a programme of the Rotarian for Family Health and HIV/AIDS prevention programme, was launched in 2012
The medical services offered included HIV tests and counselling,  eye tests and treatment, diabetes, tuberculosis, de-worming for all children, family counselling, and polio immunisation.
Speaking in Lagos on the 2016 edition, the coordinator of the programme for West Africa, Past District Governor (PGD) Olugbemiga Olowu, disclosed that over 1.2m people had benefited from the programme in Africa while 420,000 people have so far accessed it in Nigeria.
