The CTS-V sports wagon looks combination of marketers and engineers work. But what worries me is a great car has been built coming from the America but it sometime looks like a rush job. For example the last pillars at the rear are so thick it could misguide anyone reversing his car in an orthodox manner. Well that not withstanding this machine can challenge an M5 or XFR or E63 AMG for a far lower price. With the automatic transmission there many tricks stunt driver can pull. In fact the saloon is a crowd pleaser from drag race to drifting. We believe the Sports Wagon will do the same.
What’s underneath the hood? The 556-hp supercharged 6.2-liter LSA V-8 screamer. This V-8 has the power to rocket the 4390 lb wagon to 60 mph in about four seconds on the way to a 12-second quarter-mile pass.
Automobile were recently given a chance to ride along with Cadillac spokesman Nick Twork on a 400-mile run. Since this particular vehicle is part of the engineering test fleet, they weren’t allowed to drive it- really it’s not easy to get into the drivers. Although the tested model was equipped with a six-speed automatic, Cadillac also allows buyers to order a six-speed manual transmission- in fact Motor Trend Magazine has always recommended the manual trans.
So for a premium car of this level it should land here in Nigeria at an approximate amount of N13 million which will be cheaper than the XFR, E63 AMG and the M5. But even at that is it worth the buy? Well money may not be everything in this case.
