2015: A case for Idoma governor in Benue

Abu King Shuluwa, who was a governorship candidate or aspirant alongside the late Rev Fr Moses Oshio Adasu and Chief George Ohemu, thinks Idoma cannot be governor now. He should know that if two rabbits dwelling in the same hole have one eating and getting fatter daily while the other have nothing to eat and getting lean, the fatter one should look at his fellow and ask himself what is happening so that the outside world would not complain and talk much about him.
I think in Nigeria and even outside Nigeria, everybody know the worth of the Idoma man in nation building and as the balancing force of the country in all spheres, academics, militarily, medicine, politics and administration. Remember that the Idoma man is a workaholic.
There was this gentleman agreement between the Tiv and the Idoma during the reign of Senator George Akume who is known as an Otukpo boy because he attended the famous Government Secondary School Otukpo that after his tenure, the Tiv man will support the Idoma man to win and rule the state. This agreement was foiled as the Idoma man was betrayed by his Tiv brother. The Idoma man kept quiet and worked for his Tiv brother in Hon Gabriel T. Suswam. Now that the Idoma man has declared intention, the Tiv man has started singing the same old song again, somebody should tell them it is not fair and will not be taken this time.
The Tiv man should search his conscience and tell himself the truth that yes, we have marginalized this our fellow brother for long and it is actually pertinent for them to rule this same state of ours, so, let us give him a helping hand.
I therefore implore every Benue man and woman, boys and girls, old and young to support Chief Stephen Obekpa Lawani to make his intention a reality.
He has the quality, capability, credibility and the acceptability to take our state Benue to a greater height than it is today. I enjoin all Benue people especially our Tiv brothers to eschew bitterness, personal and selfish interest to make it happen this time so that we can proudly write the history of Benue in gold.
We have our good names and great state at stake to protect and so, try to build an egalitarian society for ourselves and future generation.
After all, when the struggle is over, we shall only be remembered for the good things we have done.
