I attended some of these activities and there were lessons to learn from all of them. One of them had an urgent message for the media. It was the two day International Meeting on Dangerous Speech organised by Kano based Centre for Information Technology and Development CITAD. The event held at Yar’adua Centre Abuja, January 21-22 2015 was supported by the MacArthur Foundation and the Nigeria Stability and Reconciliation Programme (NSRP).
Resource persons from Kenya and the United States were invited to share experiences on the harmful effects of dangerous speech and best practices in combating it.
