The first batch of 312 out of the 2,000 Lagos State pilgrims left Makkah on Tuesday, aboard Medview Airline Airbus 777 after concluding the 2018 Hajj exercise.
The Commissioner for Home Affairs cum Lagos State Amir ul Hajj, Dr. Abdul Hakeem Abdul Lateef declared that this is the first time Lagos pilgrims will spend less than 30 days in Saudi Arabia for the Hajj exercise.
“It is a wonderful development that Lagos pilgrims on the first flight have spent 28 days for this holy pilgrimage. We are happy and hope it will continue”.
Dr Abdul Lateef expressed joy over the success of the hajj exercise and the safety of all the pilgrims throughout the operation.
“I am particularly grateful to Allah for giving the officials and the pilgrims the grace to cooperate with one another for the success of this year Hajj operation”.
He also commended the good manner in which the pilgrims conducted themselves and the listening ear of the management with regard to the Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode’s advice to treat pilgrims with utmost respect.
He, however promised to announce other flight schedules as soon as the Board management is informed
