2019 elections top NBA annual conference agenda

The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has charged lawyers to leverage on its upcoming Annual General Conference (AGC) to ensure the success of the 2019 general elections.

President of NBA, Abubakar Mahmoud (SAN), said this while unveiling the 2018 Annual General Conference logo and website in Abuja on Friday.

Mahmoud said the conference would focus on evolving solutions to address the current and contemporary issues affecting the country.

He also said the theme for the 2018 conference: “Transition, Transmission and Sustainable Institutions” was appropriate considering that the country was preparing for elections in 2019, and added that over 10,000 lawyers were expected to attend the conference and therefore, urged all lawyers to log onto the website and register, adding that registration would only be online.

The Chairman, Technical Committee on Conference Planning of the NBA, George Etomi, added that the theme for the conference was carefully chosen to afford lawyers the opportunity to x-ray their roles in the country and on the continent as a whole.
