The FCT chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) says it has so far cleared 20 senatorial and House of Representatives aspirants for National Assembly elections in the February, 2019.
The publicity secretary of the party, Engineer Adaji Usman, disclosed this to our reporter yesterday at the party secretariat in Abuja.
He said the party cleared those who came in through the proper channel -the FCT chapter – adding that the party would keep the record of those it had confirmed to be genuine aspirants and had indicated interest to contest election.
He said eight senatorial aspirants, nine House of Representatives aspirants for AMAC/Bwari federal constituency and three others for Abuja South constituency had been cleared.
The spokesman said the clearance was sequel to the guidelines as contained in the 2019 elections time table released by INEC recently.
He noted that the clearing of the aspirants became necessary, as it would ensure sanity among those who had indicated interest in the election.
Adaji said the party was committed to ensuring free and fair primaries for all the aspirants, and urged all the aspirants to ensure they operated within the confines of the guidelines.
