 Ambo Lekansi Grassroots Volunteer (ALGV) has adopted and declared its total support for the re-election bid of Lagos state governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, in the forthcoming 2019 polls.

The group disclosed this at an event organised in honour of Governor Ambode in Epe area of the state on Sunday.

In her address, the convener of the group, Hon. Amina Badru Ogunyinka, said the group adopted and declared its unalloyed loyalty to the governor as a result of his outstanding performance in governing the state in the last 32 months.

“We are aware of the tremendous efforts made by our Governor Ambode in Lagos state, and the large investment in funds for infrastructural development being carried out by his administration – all in an effort to transform Lagos into a super mega state. Recent development has shown that Lagos will become a new Paris if he’s allowed to return.

We call on all and sundry to support the actualisation of the second term agenda of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode in Lagos state,” she said.

Speaking at the event, The Aladeshonyin of Odo-Noforija Kingdom in Lagos state, HRM Oba Babatunde Ogunlaja, said “For you to see us (the royal fathers) here, you should know that we can only support good things. For those of you at the grassroots, I urged you all to keep and safeguard your PVC and don’t forget to give Gov. Ambode your votes, as we’d also avowed.”

Also speaking, the Chairman of APC Lagos State chapter, Mr. Anifowoshe Dengel, said “Ambode is the only governor in Nigeria that is performing across board.”

He added: “He’s the only governor that has constructed 181 roads within the past 2 years plus of becoming the state governor. Ambode’s epic performance is the only reason for you to vote for the continuity of good governance in Lagos state.”

In his remark, The Adeburuwa of Igbogbo kingdom, HRM Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, who was represented by Chief Jelili Adewale Sanni thanked Gov. Ambode “for his marvellous works especially in road constructions across the state.”

“That’s why we’re supporting him for another term in office. We pray the good works continue with him beyond 2019,” the royal father added.

The youths in Lagos state who were represented by the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Epe chapter also spoke at the event.

“We’re not here other than for Gov. Ambode. For everybody that wants to practicalise this mission, it can only be achieved through one means; and that is what we’ve sensitise all our youths. To bring back Governor Ambode for another time is not only by mouth; it’s by your PVC. Therefore, if you haven’t gotten a PVC, go and register. We enjoined everyone here to go and get your PVC ready,” the NYCN leader, Mr. Giwa Moshood said.

The secretary of the ALGV, Hon. Taiwo Fatai urged Lagos residents to go register for the Permanent Voters Card to enable them vote for the continuity of the All Progressive Congress-led (APC) government in the state.
