Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, yesterday reiterated his commitment to President Muhammadu Buhari’s re-election bid in 2019.
He also expressed confidence that his anointed successor, Adekunle Akinlade, whose candidature remains a subject of controversy, would take over in the state.
Both Akinlade and an oil magnate, Dapo Abiodun, have been laying claims to the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial ticket in the state.
While the National Working Committee (NWC) has ratified Abiodun’s candidature, Amosun has maintained his stand that Akinlade remains the official candidate.
The governor in a statement through the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Adedayo Adeneye, yesterday said his candidate was set for victory.
