The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced the recruitment of election staff for the 2019 general elections.
This is coming on the heels of formal release of a 33-page regulations and guidelines for the conduct of the 2019 elections signed by the INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu.
A notice on the Twitter page of INEC listed Supervisory Presiding Officer (SPO), Registration Area Centre (RAC) Manager, Presiding Officer (PO), Assistant Presiding Officer (APO) and Registration Area Technical Support (RATECH) as the positions available to be applied for.
According to the notice a registration portal opened on Tuesday, 15th January by 8:00 am and will be closed on Monday, 21st January, 2019.
The http://pres.inecnigeria.org, as at the time of filing this report was inaccessible, due to a technical glitch.
An independent check shows that while some applicants were able to submit their applications, some others were unable to access the portal or were stuck midway and could not complete the registration.
