A former minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili has reacted to President Muhammadu Buhari’s declaration to run for a second term.

President Buhari on Monday revealed his intention to run again at the closed-door meeting of the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC).

He said he wanted to seek re-election in response to the clamour by Nigerians for him to do so. He also told the party’s NEC that he wanted to give them the honour to notify them first, of his second term ambition.

Reacting,the co-convener of the BringBackOurGirls, BBOG, advocacy group in a tweet said,"Reading the Breaking News that our President will be seeking reelection in 2019, I remembered the story of the “Ejionu” masquerade.Our President has not yet recovered from his first journey and here he is UNLIKE the very wise Ejionu, seeking to embark on a second one.

Reading the Breaking News that our President will be seeking reelection in 2019, I remembered the story of the “Ejionu” masquerade.
