The state chairman of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), in Kano, Alhaji Sammani Sharif Bashir, has said that the party is ready to edge out the ruling party in the state.
The chairman made the statement during a press briefing, over the weekend held at the Nigerian Union of Journalist secretariat in Kano.
The media briefing came shorty after the state leadership met with all the candidates vying for different positions to strategise on how to go about campaigning for the 2019 elections.
“We want to send a signal to those who think the party is nowhere to be found, and probably Malam Aminu Kano had gone with the key, that the key has been found and it will open the doors of favour and mercy to the people of Kano state,” he said.
The chairman added that the party was the first to sensitise its candidates on the issue of campaign as its campaign will be issue based.
“Our campaign strategies are issue based. We don’t attack personalities, we don’t believe in attacking personalities. We have five cardinal principles that are piloting the affairs of the party and we are abiding by those cardinal principles,” he noted.
