As the 2021 Daura Senatorial Zone President Muhammadu Buhari (PMB) Cup draws to a close, semi-final matches of the grassroots football tournament will kick-off today with the titanic clash between FC Galaxy Mani and Star Rolling FC Daura at the Daura township stadium.

The amateur football tournament organised annually by the Senatorial Zone in honour of President Muhammadu Buhari is contested by youth clubs in the 12 Local Government Areas in Daura Senatorial Zone.

To set up today’s semi-final clash, FC Galaxy Mani defeated Ingawa United in one of the quarter-final matches while Star Rolling FC of Daura edged out Shargalle Reformers.

The winner of today’s fixture will be the first team to qualify for the 2021 edition of PMB Cup for the ‘Next Level’.

In the second semi-finals billed for tomorrow, October 5, FC Porto Zango who sent Tudun Wada FC of Daura packing with a convincing 4-1 victory will lock horns with New United FC Daura who ended the run of Kusugu Rangers of Daura 9-8 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in regulation time.

The Chairman of the Local Organising Committee (LOC), Alhaji Sani Abu Daura named Hon. Sade Gambo, Amadu Adidas Special Assistant to Governor Aminu Bello Masari on sports, Alhaji Tasiu Bangara among others as some of the special guests for the two semi-final matches.
