The Ebonyi State chapter of one of the deregistered political parties in the country, the Alliance for New Nigeria (ANN), yesterday collapsed its structure into the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and endorsed a former Senate President Anyim Pius Anyim for president come 2023.
This came barely 48 hours after the Senate Minority Leader, Senator Anyinayi Abaribe, and the former Senate President, Adolphus Wabara, endorsed Anyim, a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) for president.
Former National Vice Chairman of the ANN South East zone, Dr Laz Eze, made this known on Wednesday at Ugwulangwu in Ohaozara Local Government Area of the state during a reception in honour of Mr Tochukwu Okorie, the new chairman of PDP in the state.
Eze who led the ANN members into the PDP said the PDP is the only viable political party with the interest of the people at heart in the state.
Receiving the defectors into PDP, Mr Okorie commended them for their decision.
