2023 election: Looking politics at the tribal and religious perspectives

What gains are Nigerians exactly getting from politics of religion and tribalism?

Over the years, Nigerian politics has been soiled with issues of tribalism and religious disparities resulting in poor governance, accountability and incessant insecurity in the nation.

These considerations have led to the displacement of  millions of Nigerians from their homes and turned thousands of children into beggars.

Certainly, the politics of religion and tribalism has been drawing Nigeria back. From 1999 to date, our economy has been in a very bad shape as a result of electoral chaos usually a result of disputes based on religious and tribal politics.

Stop begging West for loans, Ghana president tells African leaders

Nigeria, as a multi-ethnic and religious country, should be free from politics based on religion and tribe. This has not taken us anywhere but rather making us to retrogress as a nation and jeopardising the safety of lives and property of many citizens.

There is a need for us to avoid politics of religion and tribalism. We should vote for competent leaders devoid of religious and tribal considerations.

I am therefore, calling on our teeming populace to please shun politics of religion and tribalism in the forthcoming elections. We should vote for competent leaders irrespective of religion, ethnicity and cultural affiliations for the betterment of our people.
